Hong Kong Transit Visa
The Hong Kong Transit Visa would be needed by those who visit Hong Kong or transit through the country. There are around 170 countries whose citizens can visit Hong Kong without a visa for a period from 7 to 180 days. Others would however need to apply for a transit visa. Citizens of certain countries would compulsorily need a transit visa even if they do not leave the airport.
Eligibility
In order to get a Hong Kong Transit Visa to enter or transit through Hong Kong, following are the eligibility conditions:
- Having proper bona fides.
- Availability of adequate funds for the period of stay in HK.
- For transit visa, an onward ticket is needed to the next destination (except in the case where the destination is Macau or Mainland China).
- Should not have a criminal record or security objections.
- Should have a valid travel document.
